The Vampire of Shangri-La

Aland van Deest is a handsome cruise ship maître d’ with a secret: he’s a 1,200-year-old vampire. Aland found the perfect haunt, choosing from 2,000 fresh passengers each week for his next meal.
At karaoke night, Aland sings Elvis on a dare and discovers he has a gift for impersonation. He’s hired as a tribute performer on the Shangri-La, and the fame goes to his head. Aland is excited about his new career, but he’s stifled by a retired doctor who is Aland’s love child. Their unexpected family tie is strained when a passenger jumps overboard after a passionate night with Aland. The passenger’s alluring sister books a cruise on the Shangri-La, desperate for answers.
Televangelist Henry Lanterman is also on the hunt for Aland after a dispute when they were pirates in the 17th century. He’s now on a crusade to rid the world of vampires, and stages a terrorist attack on the Shangri-La.
Aland’s sweet cruise gig turns complicated and dangerous. His instinct is to hide in the shadows, but he can’t help worrying about his son. Deciding whether to fight or flee, Aland seeks guidance from the ghost of his father.

Praise for The Vampire of Shangri-La

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Having much of the story/action happen on a cruise ship, the Shangri-la, added to the appeal for me. The storyline and suspense were compelling throughout. I lost some sleep with this book. The main character, the vampire, was multi-dimensional, and was often likable and witty. This book will appeal to both men and women. There’s excitement for everyone aboard the Shangri-la.
I highly recommend this book and this author.
